We had 60+ kindergarten families attend this special event where kids decorated a bookshelf and shopped for free books while adults attended a Parent Education seminar to learn how to help their children read. We are grateful to Jana Anders and Christine Chan, members of our RPM circle who raised their hands to be Champions.

Below is a note Jana wrote thanking all the volunteers from Menlo Church, Highway Community, and Calvary who made the event possible. Thank you volunteers, thank you Menlo for the financial support, thank you Christine and Jana!

Jana: “The Bookshelf Project was a great success! Thank you to the many of you who volunteered in so many different ways to make the event special for each of the kids. It was really neat how our community brought their diverse talents and resources to this event. Some of you donated books or money, some of you worked with the kids, some of you painted bookshelves, and others set up the book store and more. After decorating their bookshelves and getting their books several kids asked me ‘Do I get to keep this?. It was such a joy to tell them, ‘Yes!’ Thank you for your support in blessing the Castro/Mistral community.”
The lives of our RPM kids and families were touched in so many ways this Spring. We couldn’t do it without you!

With Grateful hearts,

Malia and the RPM Board (Bridget, Brad and Christy)
