TKA students help create a magical week of Camp!

Picture
Our Spring Break camp, in partnership with The Kings Academy (TKA) high school students and staff as well as the El Camino Hospital, was truly amazing. Each year, TKA sends their students out in groups on service trips all over the world. This year, we partnered with TKA to host a service trip right here in the Sunnyvale community, just blocks from the the TKA campus. Students led crafts, sports, gardening, theater and more. We had 35 leaders from TKA Students, TKA Staff, RPM Staff, interns and volunteers pouring love on 85 underserved neighborhood kids.

With grateful hearts,

The RPM Board & Staff

IN THEIR OWN WORDS
TKA High School Students share their Camp experience

Steven: "The amount of joy a group of happy children can bring is unreal. The whole week we got closer to the kids and for me one of the best parts was just losing all my energy playing games bringing them joy. I realized how much impact I had on the kids when I was leaving and all the kids were asking if I had to leave, it warmed my heart."

JT: "Bonding with Leo had to have been one of the most memorable parts for me...day after day seeing Leo and hearing his adorable laugh has to be one of the best moments for me as a leader of this camp, which has been a blessing for the kids and also for me."

Melissa: "My favorite part of the week was bonding with my kids through games and songs. One of the most touching moments I have experienced each day was with Alexa, a young and artistic second grader. Each day she comes up to Sam and I with a new drawing of both of us. In the afternoons Sam and I work in the drawing/ art group and draw together with Alexa and another young boy named Salvador. I see God’s light through them and I am very thankful to have had this experience!"
